Track Builds

Track Type

  • There are a variety of Track Types built already in the Dashboards, but if you need to add a Track Type, it’s very simple
    • Go to Track Type in the Dashboard menu
    • Type the Track Type you want to add and Save it

Assets

  • The first thing to do is duplicate the Basecamp To-Do list so you can be working through that, and to drop all of the form data and assets that you receive into the Track Message Board in Basecamp.
  • In the Track Build to-do template, it contains info about resizing the assets (logo and track image), so you can do that and post them in Basecamp and Box
  • If the logo is a PNG and the image is a JPG, you’ll use the ImageOptim app to shrink the files

Info / Build

  • In the Dashboard, go to Tracks and click the orange plus sign in the upper right of the screen.
  • Select the Track Logo and Image (the resized versions)
  • Enter the track name as it will display in the app
    • Be mindful of using any special characters, especially “/” as that will cause signed waivers NOT to save to Box appropriately
      • You CAN use parentheses or dashes
        • Ie. For the 1/5-mile at Charlotte, we had to spell it out to “Charlotte Motor Speedway – Fifth-Mile Dirt Track”
  • If the track name is really long, enter a short name for the track. This will be used when they send text messages to use fewer characters.
    • ie. South Boston Speedway could have the short name SoBo
  • Enter the physical / GPS address of the track
  • Enter the track’s phone number, time zone, website and schedule URLs
    • The schedule URL is not required if they don’t have a dedicated page for the schedule
  • Select the Track Type, and then enter the Track Size in miles
    • You do NOT need to enter the word “miles” as it will populate automatically
  • Enter the track’s bio
  • Enter the track social handles – you only need the part of the URL that comes after the platform
    • Ie. For Pit Pay’s FB page https://www.facebook.com/PitPayApp/, you would only need to enter ‘PitPayApp/’
      • If they don’t have all of the social channels, you can leave them blank
  • Enter any overarching FAQs like refund policy, track contact, etc.
  • Select the correct account
  • Select your name in the “Added By” dropdown
  • Change the status to “Publish” if everything is complete then click “Add Track”
  • Open the respective app and find the track – check every link and the mapping to make sure everything works
