Event Registration Builds
What Fields Are Useable
- A lot of the fields available in Formstack are NOT able to be used on our forms because the app can’t use them properly (yet). Below is a list of the fields we can use.
- Note: On the fields, the Field Label and Support Text will display in the app, but the Placeholder will NOT.
- Short Answer
- Telephone
- Number
- Dropdown List
- Radio Button
- Checkbox
- Date/Time
What’s Required
- On all registration forms, you MUST start the form with the driver’s name in separate short answer fields – first name, middle name (doesn’t have to be required), last name
- Our Dashboard looks for this at the beginning of the form to put the registration pass in the driver’s name and organize the registration table by the driver’s name
- For registration to be sortable by class in the dashboard, a dropdown with the specific name [Class or Division] must be created.
How to Create the Form
- Now, we have enough forms built that it’s fairly easy to start by copying a form that has some fields that you’ll be using
- Log into Formstack, then go to Forms, find the form you want to copy, check the box to the left of the form name and then select Copy > My Account.
- You can file the copy of the form in the appropriate folder or create a new folder
- Click on the form to enter the form builder
- You can add, delete and modify fields as needed
- To add a field, you drag one of the fields that we can use into the form and then fill out the Field Label, Support Text and mark if it’s required or not
- Most of the other field options you would fill in wouldn’t be used by the app, so really those are the only 3 you need to worry about
- You can view the live form to get an idea of what it will look like in the app, and you can send that live form link to the promoter if they need to approve it before you put it in the app
- In the Form Settings, in Basic Settings, you can change the form URL (you should do this for all copied forms) and change the name of the form if you didn’t do that already
- Once you have the form built, you can grab the form ID from the URL to use in the event build
